My Approach to Health and Healing

I believe in looking at the bigger picture when it comes to health. Instead of focusing on symptoms, I dig deeper to understand the root causes of imbalance. With a mix of functional medicine strategies and holistic health coaching, I guide you toward sustainable wellness and a thriving life.

The Process: How It Works

Each person’s wellness journey is different. That’s why I take a tailored, step-by-step approach to get you feeling your best.

The First Visit
The first visit is a 1 hour session done over Zoom. Before this session I spend time reviewing your intake form and any labs, information about current supplements, medications, and current diagnoses.  
 
When we meet for our first session, I ask some followup questions to get information I was unclear about or had questions about when reviewing your information.  Then, I review with you what I have puzzled out in terms of the underlying dynamics that are likely causing the symptoms that you want to address.  
 
This is a broad overview of what is going on with you – so that you can see the forest for the trees, as it were.  Most people find themselves chasing symptoms – often reading a blog and trying a supplement or two to see if they get better.  This usually leads to a pile of supplements with no real overall plan for health.
 
What I will outline for you in our first session will paint the big picture of why you, for example, may have insomnia, constipation, reflux, headaches, exhaustion, etc. and how those things are interconnected.
 
It is after this first session that you can decide if you think what I said makes sense and if you would like to pursue coaching with me. 
 
Coaching Sessions
In the coaching sessions, we meet twice a month in order to begin making changes to address your major complaints as well as follow up on how you are doing with the suggested changes.  If something isn’t working for you, we figure out a different approach that will work better for you based on your feedback.
 
The coaching program is a minimum of 4 months, which may sound like a long time, but in terms of making changes in ways that work for you as an individual and are sustainable that you can continue on your own takes time.  If we decide to order labs, then those have to arrive, you must get your sample, send it off, and then we have to wait for the results.  Likewise, if we add or subtract supplements, they don’t work overnight, so we need some time to allow for those changes to have effect.
